1. Q. What type of franchises are available?
A. Two options are available: an Individual franchise for a single ELLIOTTS’ OFF BROADWAY® DELI restaurant, and a Master Franchise Agreement.
2. Q. How much does the franchise cost?
A. There are two costs associated with any franchise. One is an initial franchise fee, and the other is the cost of establishing the business.
ELLIOTTS’ current franchise fees:
The individual franchise fee is $15,000. The franchise fee for a second and additional franchises purchased by the same franchisee is $7,500. Franchise fees are payable at the time the franchise agreement is signed.
The cost of establishing an ELLIOTTS’ OFF BROADWAY® DELI restaurant will vary considerably depending on the size, location, build-out requirements, and the market area of each restaurant. However, the investment may be as low as $117,750 for an individual franchise, plus the franchise fee.
3. Q. What is the continuing service fee and royalty?
A. As an ELLIOTTS’ franchise owner, you will utilize ELLIOTTS’ OFF BROADWAY® DELI, Inc.’s name, systems of operations, buying power, and on-going support and guidance in exchange for a 6% (of gross sales) continuing service fee and royalty.
| 4. Q. Am I required to advertise, and if so how much?
A. One of the great advantages of being a part of a franchise is the "advertising power" of a network of independent franchise owners. To develop and implement more cost effective marketing and advertising programs, ELLIOTTS’ OFF BROADWAY® DELI, INC. will collect a minimum of 1% and a maximum of 2% of your gross sales for the exclusive use of ELLIOTTS’ Marketing and Advertising FUND. In addition, you need to promote you business locally. ELLIOTTS’ OFF BROADWAY® DELI, INC. requires all franchise owners to spend a minimum of 1% of sales on local advertising. These funds may be combined with other local franchises in "co-operative" advertising programs.
5. Q. Do I receive training?
A. Yes, indeed! You and/or your designated manager will receive training at a designated training store. The text for the copyrighted training program is ELLIOTTS’ OFF BROADWAY® DELI’S Operations Manual. Furthermore, one of ELLIOTTS’ representatives will assist you when you open your store. The cost for this is included in your initial franchise fee. However, out of pocket expenses during the training period such as food, transportation, and lodging, are yours.
